Schools
Dripping Springs ISD serves the growing area of northwest Hays County. Currently, the district operates five campuses along with a central administration office and a separate transportation and support service facility. Dripping Springs ISD received high marks on the Texas Education Agency (TEA) Academic Accountability Ratings for the 2009-2010 school year. The district, Dripping Springs High School, Rooster Springs Elementary and Walnut Springs Elementary were rated “Exemplary”.
The schools are the center of the community – parents and community members actively support the schools through PTA and volunteer programs. Outstanding academic and extracurricular activities are available to all students and they routinely participate and excel in UIL competitions. Newsweek magazine’s annual list of “America’s Best High Schools” once again included Dripping Springs High School. The list ranks US public high schools according to a “Challenge Index”, which is based on a school’s total number of Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate tests taken divided by the number of graduating seniors that year.
The Dripping Springs School District offers many opportunities for parents and community members to participate in school activities, while planning for the future of District schools, and volunteering in a myriad of programs.
